Wakeskating is a relatively new sport, therefore, hype about this board or that board means very little. From season to season the market is flooded with new skates, new handles, and new everything. You can pay about as much as you want for a wakeskate or you could buy the base models for under $150. You, as the consumer, get to choose what you like and what you ride. If you're gonna be hitting sliders, you should probably consider a synthetic wakeskate. If you're a wake to wake rider, you could choose to ride a wooden board or a synthetic board. Choose your arsenal according to your style of riding.

With past companies already proving that a bi-level can send a company into bankruptcy, Liquid Force decided that they had the chops to push the idea and still remain on top. The 2008 Liquid Force SST hit the mark. With a compression molded top deck and a nine ply maple bottom level, this board is the top of the line when it comes to technology. This board is Silas Thurman design. Grip-tape and a mellow concave, make this board what the rider's want. Liquid Force wakeskates, have a more narrow tail than nose, which makes the tail of the board sink and release out of the water extremely easier than other wakeskates. It makes for an amazing wake to wake wakeskate.

A lot of people have mixed opinions about the SST. However, the first set I had with this board, my ollies were around 10 inches higher. With the tail and nose designed to bend and give, I was still skeptical. However, I rode this board for around 3 months straight. I used it for everything except sliders, and its been one of my favorite boards. It cuts extremely fast into the wake for me, but it is a lot different cut than any other wakeskate. The tail and nose will give you problems at first but stick with it. This board is one of the best when it comes to wake to wake. You need this board if your a boat rider.

A few drawbacks definitely float around this wakeskate. For all the wincher's, I would go a different route and get synthetic boards. Cable rat's, same thing. It seems like the Liquid Force ordered a mass number of them and a few just didn't take beatings like the others. Liquid Force is definitely having to fix a lot of boards that broke prematurely, however they are extremely good about replacing them.

If you like wake to wake, the Liquid Force SST is your top-of-the-line-good-time. $320 may be quiet a bit but I haven't regretted it.
